Matt is an award-winning trainer focused on two questions: why and how do people communicate?

He trains teams and leaders, at public- and private-sector organizations, to use thinking and communication in ways that move missions forward. His clients experience transformations in performance: thinking and communication, previously only background items, become strategic assets that deliver results.

Matt grew up in Ottawa, Canada, where he enjoyed playing hockey and music, and camping with friends and family. He began working as a trainer in his teens, training swimmers, and continued that work while studying music education at one of Canada's best music schools (the Faculty of Music at the University of Western Ontario). He also delivered award-winning leadership work in Western’s student residences.

He became the luckiest man in the world when he got married. He continued working as a trainer, now training communication; he worked for Sherwin-Williams, in management and sales; he ran a residential painting company; he joined Mensa; and he completed two additional degrees: a Bachelor of Education and a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics.

Over the course of his career Matt has been a stakeholder in contracts and companies in multiple industries, and he’s delivered award-winning sales performance. He has been privileged to be a part of many teams, as a member and as a leader, and works tirelessly in each new endeavour to hone his communication expertise.
